“JUNIOR NATURALIST” conservation education program for Grade 6 students of Colombo International School was held on 17, 18 & 19 June 2015 at the Yagirala Field Research and Conservation Education Center. The program aimed at providing hands-on learning about tropical forest ecosystems as a way to inspire positive environmental stewardship. More than 100 participants including students and teachers from CIS attended the 3-day workshop.

Short Course on Sustainable Forestry and Ecosystem Conservation in Estates Lands held on 2nd and 3rd October 2015 Organized by Center for Sustainability, Department of Forestry and Environmental Science, University of Sri Jayewardenepura in collaboration with SLAAS Section B . More than 15 Participants from various plantation companies around the country were participated for this two day workshop. Forest Management Concept and Planning, Economic aspects of Forest Management, Harvest and Replant Scheduling, Soils and soil conservation best practices, Sustainable Forestry and Forestry Certifications: Goals, Principals and Criteria, Biodiversity Conservation and Ecosystem Protection in Forest Plantations/Estates were key session of the two day short course, Dr. Upul Subasinghe, Dr. Priyan Perera, Dr. Daham Jayewardana, Mr. K.
