RECREATION ECOLOGY AND ECOTOURISM RESEARCH GROUP
WELCOME TO BIODIVERSITY AND SUSTAINABILITY RESEARCH GROUP
Biodiversity and Sustainability Research Group is one of the research groups at the Department of Forestry and Environmental Science, Faculty of Applied Sciences of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Our research covers a wide range of topics spanning natural sciences to social sciences. Much of our involvement also centers on teaching, including practical and field excursions.
Everything that humans need for their survival and well-being depends, either directly or indirectly, on the natural environment. Sustainability creates and maintains the conditions under which humans and nature can co-exist in productive harmony that permits fulfilling the social, economic, and other requirements of present and future generations. As such, our interdisciplinary research works are mainly focused on sustainable management and utilization of biodiversity and its components.
